We present our research activity on hybrid oxide heterostructures, in particular combining strongly anisotropic molybdenum trioxide, MoO₃, with thermochromic vanadium dioxide, VO₂. The integration of these two materials required careful control of the deposition sequence and interface quality in order to preserve both the polar dielectric properties of MoO₃ and the phase-change behavior of VO₂. By combining α-MoO₃ with VO₂ in multilayer architectures, we demonstrate reversible thermal modulation of the infrared optical response, leading to dynamic tuning of phonon-polariton resonances supported by the α-MoO₃ layer.

Abstract
We present our research activity on hybrid oxide heterostructures, in particular combining strongly anisotropic molybdenum trioxide, MoO₃, with thermochromic vanadium dioxide, VO₂. The integration of these two materials required careful control of the deposition sequence and interface quality in order to preserve both the polar dielectric properties of MoO₃ and the phase-change behavior of VO₂. By combining α-MoO₃ with VO₂ in multilayer architectures, we demonstrate reversible thermal modulation of the infrared optical response, leading to dynamic tuning of phonon-polariton resonances supported by the α-MoO₃ layer.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
