Porto Siculo. Geraci 2050. Comunità supportata dai droni

Missione Futuro is a summer school led by the Municipality of Geraci Siculo in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and Edizioni Arianna, designed to build - through an interdisciplinary and participatory approach - a shared vision for sustainable urban development. Responding to depopulation and the shaping of territorial cultural identity, the summer school generated scenarios and design proposals that can inform local strategies and policies. In particular, the work explored the reuse of abandoned areas in the medieval centre as new IT and research spaces - aimed at attracting innovation-led businesses and digital nomads - through direct engagement with key stakeholders such as the Cognitive Robotics and Social Sensing LAB / CNR-ICAR. The outcomes also outlined a pilot model with potential to be scaled across the Madonie towns and adapted to other communities facing similar challenges.
